La Plaza Mall, McAllen, TX – This South Texas shopping mall is one of Simon Properties’ most productive developments, and due to its close proximity to the Mexican border, it is confronted with a wide variety of security related concerns.

Simon Properties chose Safe Sight to implement an initial 24-camera network-based video system as a primary tool for the full-time security staff. This system included over a mile of fiber-optic cabling connecting 5 gigabit network nodes, strategically located pan/tilt/zoom cameras with auto-tracking capabilities and exterior wide dynamic-range cameras to handle challenging lighting conditions. All exterior cameras utilize advanced motion detection from the DVTel system to minimize errant motion detection and provide greater intelligence to system users.

While located more than 300 miles from the Safe Sight Support Center, most service requests are handled via our trademarked Instant Online Maintenance program.

Since implementation, La Plaza Mall management has reported greatly enhanced ability to respond to events and a dramatic decrease in criminal activity on the property. (Return to Top)

Texas Lutheran University, Seguin TX – TLU needed a 32-camera campus-wide video security system utilizing a single network-based video recorder to provide video surveillance at eight different buildings on campus. Safe Sight developed a solution that incorporated 12 existing and 20 new analog cameras, all connected to TLU’s network infrastructure through IP video encoders. The new cameras are high-resolution, vandal-resistant, day/night color cameras covering primarily the residence halls.

With minimal impact on network performance, the reuse of the existing backbone network allowed for a cost-effective, rapid deployment of the system as well as centralized system control and monitoring. In addition, remote software clients will provide complete access to system resources for purposes of remote monitoring by campus police. (Return to Top)

First Evangelical Free Church, Austin, TX – At this very busy multi-use facility, Safe Sight installed a 14-door access control system along with a 10-camera video surveillance system for safety and security across a three-building campus. Both systems are integrated with the church’s existing TCP/IP network infrastructure to reduce cabling and hardware costs while providing enhanced functionality and expandability.

The Access Control system utilizes the advanced and convenient iClass proximity technology from HID and provides total control over who gets in where and when. The system has enabled the church accommodate several unaffiliated community groups, like the Boy Scouts, by providing cards that will allow access only at specific times.

The network-based video system incorporates standard analog cameras as well as network-based pan/tilt cameras, a 1.3 megapixel, high-resolution digital camera to maintain required detail over a wide field of view, and an IPIX 360-degree camera in a busy lobby area. (Return to Top)

Dell Jewish Community Center, Austin, TX -- In preparation for the national Maccabi Games held at this site in August, 2004, Safe Sight installed an 11-camera video surveillance system to cover the grounds and perimeter of the 40-acre facility. The IP-based cameras interface at different points with the existing TCP/IP network infrastructure that connects five buildings on the campus.

The Community Center uses advanced wireless network technologies to reach cameras at remote locations and at the guard station. With this system, the security guards at the front gate can view all cameras on the campus plus review the recorded video. Safe Sight was able to install the system within a few days by utilizing the existing network infrastructure to meet the customer's required service date. (Return to Top)

American Bank of Texas, Marble Falls, TX – American Bank of Texas has more than 10 branches throughout Central Texas and required a common platform among all locations to help manage operations while providing state-of-the-art access control, video surveillance and security alarm systems.

By utilizing a network-based access control platform, employees carry a single proximity card to access all facilities. Employee privileges are strictly controlled and changed through a web browser-based administration interface accessible from any PC on the bank’s network.

With an advanced Digital Video Recorder system, administrators can identify a motion from a person or activate different “region of interest” alarms based on activity in various areas of a camera image. Live or recorded video from any or all remote DVRs can be retrieved easily over the banks internal secure network to support security or operational needs. (Return to Top)

American Bank, Corpus Christi, TX – American Bank operates branches along the Texas Gulf Coast and in Austin. The bank wanted to upgrade an existing video system in one branch and implement new systems in two new branches.

Safe Sight’s Digital Video Recorder (DVR) solution enables the central operations group to view live video from up to 16 cameras simultaneously and from any of the locations over the company’s private network. Additionally, the bank can review recorded data and administer system settings remotely. (Return to Top)

Marriott, Horseshoe Bay, TX – A newly constructed premier resort property for Marriott located on Lake Lyndon B. Johnson in the Texas Hill Country required an intrusion alarm system and integrated video surveillance. Safe Sight provided an extensive 80-point intrusion/panic alarm solution to secure the multiple restaurants and shops, configured with five independent partitions and 40 zones.

The Safe Sight video surveillance system with 15 discrete mini-dome cameras is used to watch operations in various locations within the hotel. Both systems can be monitored and controlled from one of two locations on the property site, securing company property while protecting resort guests and employees. (Return to Top)

North Austin Medical Center, Austin, TX – This large facility needed to add control to several doors in their facility, but expanding their existing proprietary access control system was cost prohibitive. By replacing their existing system with Safe Sight’s network-based access control solution, a single door can be added economically and the system can expand to control hundreds of doors across multiple buildings. And because it is network based, access control nodes can be added easily anywhere in the facility.

Safe Sight converted the doors from the existing system and added several new doors during the initial conversion to control more than 40 access points. With six nodes throughout this large medical center, doors can be added to the system at an economical fixed price and easily charged back to the requesting department. Additionally, the web-based interface with multiple user-authority levels allow the security personnel to monitor activity and remotely unlock doors, while reserving administration privileges for designated personnel. (Return to Top)

Central Texas Medical Center, San Marcos, TX – In accordance with Homeland Defense Readiness guidelines, this important healthcare facility wanted the capability to quickly and easily reprogram access to the facility in accordance to various threat conditions.

The solution offered by Safe Sight provides the ability to predefine Threat Levels that can be activated with single action. These Threat Levels can activate a facility “lock down,” restrict access to a certain user group, or alter access privileges for any or all users. Furthermore, the facility received approval from the local fire marshal to activate a 30-second delayed egress system under lock down conditions on its 18 exterior doors. This unique feature is a software-defined parameter configured, activated and controlled by the Safe Sight system. (Return to Top)

Cornerstone Medical Center, Austin, TX – Cornerstone is a rehabilitation hospital with four locations in the Austin area. It required enhanced security at each location while maintaining a centralized management system. The hospital chose Safe Sight to leverage its existing network infrastructure and integrate video and access control systems to bring these locations together under a common technology platform.

The video solution incorporated existing video cameras and added cameras for surveillance of outdoor activities. Using the robust remote client software, any camera from any of these locations can be monitored from anywhere on the company’s network. Also, the network-based access control system provides centralized administration, allowing doctors and administrators to roam freely among the facilities using a single access credential. The architecture of the system enables Cornerstone economically to add one or two doors to the system at a remote site. (Return to Top)

HealthSouth Surgical Hospital, Austin, TX – With limited staff, this small surgical hospital needed to step up security without adding a lot of overhead. Safe Sight provided advanced network-based video surveillance, access control and a video intercom systems to allow key entries to be monitored and controlled at the nurses station or the receiving office.

The video system includes an IPIX CommandView Dome providing 360-degree views and recordings of the busy front lobby area.
